We are going to learn a new word.  It is “pedophile”

I pedophile is a kind of person who is very sick and very very dangerous.  A pedophile has something very wrong with his brain that you can’t see from the outside.  A pedophile wants to touch children on their private parts or have a child touch their private parts.

We used to think a pedophile was a dirty scary looking old man.  We would know right away that he was a pedophile and stay away from him.  But this is not always true at all.

Pedophiles are:

• Grown ups

• A man or a woman but

• People who want to touch children inappropriately

Pedophiles can:

• Live close to you

• Be old or young

• Be rich or poor

• Look and act like a nice person

• Be part of your family

• Be a stranger

• Be someone you see every day

Sometimes a pedophile may take a job where they can be close to children.  Like a teacher, cub scout, coach…

Pedophiles will act very nicely so that you will trust them and do want they want you to do. They will want to be your friend.  They might say to you: You are really special.  I love you.  This will be our little game.  No one needs to know.  It is our secret.  Don’t tell your mom or dad.  Don’t tell anyone, they will be mad at you or me.  If you tell I will hurt you.  If you tell I will hurt your mom or dad etc.

They might want to play games where you take your clothes off.
